In pursuit of great boots...

As we approach the holidays, and the cold season, my shopping agenda focuses around finding a great pair of boots.
Last year, I purchased a pair from Madewell and I have worn them to death (pictured below).

This year, I looked for a leather pair instead of my regular suede pair to switch it up.

I do not like to invest in cheaply made shoes, but I also do not have $600 to throw around on footwear.  I stumbled upon this pair and fell in love! They are arriving next week and I am so excited to try them!

Beauty Obsession: Glossier

I am totally addicted to trying new beauty products.  I love getting a new package in the mail, and I enjoy researching new products to fit my beauty needs.  I recently stumbled upon Glossier, a make up company started by Emily Weiss.

I recognized Weiss from The Hills (middle school obsession and not even sorry), and was excited to read about her company.  I instantly fell in love with Glossier's approach to makeup as enhancement, not coverage.  The girly products embrace a woman's natural beauty and empower her to curate her own makeup routine. The Glossier Instagram  is also flawless.

Naturally, I had to try the products and started with the three below.

Perfecting Skin Tint: Because of my oily skin, I am always searching for a lightweight foundation/base/tinted moisturizer that doesn't clog my pores or slick off my skin by the end of the day.  I really like the natural coverage of this product (it's designed to help skin not hide it), but it does not help with the oiliness of my skin.  Although I would recommend this product, I am continuing my search for the holy grail of oily skin products.

Soothing Face Mist: This product does not have a great scent, but made my face feel significantly fresher upon application.  Beware though, it made me break out a little when I applied the mist over makeup.

Boy Brow: This is my favorite out of the three products above.  I use this product every morning to define my eye brows and I love the way it keeps my eye brows in line throughout the day.

Not pictured: Super Pure: I suffer from small bouts of acne so I decided to try the Super Pure.  This product is the most effective at reducing redness out of any product I have ever tried.  I love the easy application of this product because it's not greasy or messy.  10/10 recommend the Super Pure!!

I just ordered the Super Glow to help with acne scaring, and I will keep you posted on my reactions to that product.

For a risk free trial of the products, use my referral link here for 20% off your purchase. You won't be sorry!

Shopbop Main Event Sale

Woo Shopbop sale! I always love when Shopbop has a sale because they include things that normally never go on sale.  As I check the Shopbop app frequently, I have made a couple of purchases from this sale.
I purchased this dress last week for a date function for my boyfriend's fraternity. I received multiple compliments on the pattern of the dress, and I loved how comfortable it was.

These shoes caught my eye a couple of weeks ago and they were a no brainer.  They are the perfect addition to an outfit that would have been boring.

With W&L homecoming next week, I used the sale as an opportunity to score a heavily discounted dress.  I purchased this dress for more than 75% off (!!) and I'm excited to wear it next week for homecoming.

I could absolutely not resist these shoes.  I was in desperate need of another nude ballet flats, and I loved this Schutz pair.

House Cleaning

Because I haven't posted in a while, here are some fun life updates.
My parents came to visit last weekend and we had an amazing time.  My dad kept reminding me how he was fun in college, while my mom beamed next to him.  We went antiquing, and ate lots of food.  Successful weekend in my book.

After dropping my phone one too many times, I decided to give my phone a makeover and opt for a safer case.  I love the Sonix case for its sleek design and ability to protect my phone.  Highly reccommend.

 Krass & Co Brand Ambassador
I was selected to be a part of the program and I could not be happier.  I absolutely love the Krass & Co brand and I cannot wait to sport their products.  I will do a more extensive post on the brand later in the week.

In pursuit of great jeans...

Img src:https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/474x/93/c3/fb/93c3fb4e93a327dd56f7376fb3366c67.jpg

I found an amazing pair of jeans last year (class favorite) and wore them to death.  They are literally beginning to fall apart at the seams, and it is time for me to search for a new favorite pair.  As I make way for new denim, I mourn my old favorite.  RIP my beloved old denim.
I am quite honestly overwhelmed by the denim selection, so I resorted to ShopBop to see which jeans have the best reviews.  I've heard good things about these, and I know these are a fan favorite.  I've linked a couple of adorable pairs below; all I have to do is choose a pair.

Dorm Bedding

Before my freshman year, I was on a mission to find the perfect bedding for my dorm.  I knew I wanted a simple pattern, preferably in navy or white, that was high quality and relatively inexpensive.   I stumbled upon Crane & Canopy, and fell in love with beautiful duvet covers.  I chose this duvet (pictured below) and opted for a navy, white and pink color scheme for my room.  After showing minimal signs of wear after one year, I could not be more pleased with the quality of my duvet.

Lilly Sale

Ah, the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale. An annual event marked by my father questioning my financial decisions, and a contribution to my love of all things printed and girly.  Without moderation, I understand Lilly can be garish, overwhelming and sometimes tacky (yikes).  I understand the pieces are expensive and sometimes too girlish.  To be quite honest, I do not really buy into whatever negative reputation Lilly has in the mainstream fashion world.  All I care about is the fit of the clothes, and the patterns on the dresses.  The fit of the Callahan shorts cannot be beat (see below); the classic ease of the shift dresses carried me through high school and now college.  While there is definitely a time and a place for Lilly, I continue to shop the sale every year.

My sister, Emma,  and I wake up early for the sale so we can shop together.  It's definitely more fun to share the sale experience with someone else, especially when you score something extra special.  We always focus on things we get the most use out of during the warmer weather, so we normally aim for Callahan shorts or easy dresses.  This year, Emma had to work during the sale.  I'm glad we could text while we shopped separately.

My shift was perfect for my sorority formal

My personal picks from the sale:

Linen Beach Pant

I've had my eye on these all summer and decided they would be my priority during the sale.  I love the green and pink print, and how comfy they look!

Coral Tank Top

I loved this top because it was the perfect amount of flowy without looking matronly.  I also loved it because it was under $30. Score.

Sabrina Sleeveless Shift

I was not planning on purchasing a dress from the sale this year, but I could not say no to a simple blue and white pattern.  Or the classic silhouette.  Or the price (under $70).

January Skort

I love this skort because it's different from anything else in my closet.  The warmer tones will perfectly fit into my closet's transition from summer to fall.

Loving Lately

Happy Saturday everyone! With two weeks of summer left before the start of school, I'm trying to enjoy my family time as much as possible. I'm also trying to soak up as much New England beauty as I can before I head to Virginia (see beautiful Rhode Island loving below).  While I love Virginia, nothing will trump my love for the North.

With the start of school approaching, I've been focusing on easy dresses, shoes and scarves.  Because a dress, scarf combination makes for a no-stress morning, I like to stock up before I move back to school.  Shop my favorites from the week below.

Persifor Sale

Living in New England, it seems there is always a reason to wear a cheery print.  A fun print adds excitement to your day, whether you're lounging in the house, running errands, or heading to the coast.  I always get excited when I find a brand that promotes comfort and color, for non-obnoxious printed garments are difficult to come by.  The brand Persifor offers the best selection of simple prints that are effortlessly chic.  Persifor is currently running a site wide sale, 40% off your order with code PERSIFORSUMMER. Plus free shipping!! What more could a girl need?

I purchased this sarong from the sale and I could not be more happy with it.  The quality of the sarong is amazing and the print is adorable.  I'm seriously debating purchasing  these; they look so cute and comfy.  Shop the rest of my picks below!

Wedding Recap

As posted here, I went to a wedding last weekend. The ceremony perfectly embodied the spirit of a picturesque New England summer.  Alec, my date, and I had the most amazing time.

My dress kept me perfectly comfortable in the 90 degree heat, and I loved the simple peachy color.  Another fan favorite from the weekend? These sunglasses.  I love the different color tortoise shell of the frames, and the lenses have the cutest light pink tint to them.  Not only are the glasses a refreshing statement, they also provide the best UV protection out of any glasses I've ever owned.  10/10 recommend stomaching the high price tag for the glasses, they are worth every penny.

Roberta Roller Rabbit On Sale

Img src: https://www.instagram.com/p/BI0gmNtBEqa/?taken-by=tuckernuck

While I am a huge fan of my preppy prints, sometimes the abundance of color in a traditionally preppy dress can overwhelm me.  Roberta Roller Rabbit offers women a softer alternative to preppy resort wear, and I am obsessed with her patterns.  I have had my eye on this scarf for the entire summer.  How could you not melt over the blue and white pattern? And 100% cotton voile?!  I received an email from Roberta Roller Rabbit today for 50% off sale and I had to add the scarf to my collection (also seriously debating getting  this).  In the spirit of spreading the joy of a fabulous sale, I've linked some of my favorite RRR sale pieces below.

Espadrille Love

I have always thought my warm weather shoe options were somewhat limited.  If I was not sporting my (sometimes uncomfortable) Jack Rogers, I was in flip flops.  This summer, I searched for a more casual alternative to Jacks that would look more put together than flip flops.  Espadrilles are the answer to my problem! They are comfortable and cute, what more could you want?
Img Src: http://luellajune.com/denim-denim/

Today I purchased these (sold out, similar); I am super excited to wear them for the rest of the summer and into the early fall.   I've scoured the internet to find more fun espadrilles, and linked them below.  There are more discounted styles here.  Enjoy your newly stylish and comfortable feet!

Staying Active Over The Summer

After four years of rowing in high school, I am conditioned to require physical activity.  Physical activity truly motivates me and keeps me awake; without it, I feel like a giant blob.  When I'm at college, I average around 3-6 miles of walking every day.  I try to make it to the gym 3-4 times a week, but walking sometimes feels like enough.
Because I work in an office this summer, I am not nearly as active as I am at school.  Instead of the mindless activity built into a college routine, I have to actively plan out my physical activity.  It's definitely not always to wake up at the crack of dawn to get a work out in, so I have worked to incorporate fitness more naturally into my day.  Below I've shared the ways I stay active over the summer.

1. Take the stairs
Because my office is on the third floor, I take the stairs to challenge myself without going out of the way.  If I'm feeling super inactive after sitting at my desk for a couple of hours, I will walk to the restroom on a different floor or simply walk downstairs to the lobby.

2. Walk as often as you can
I try to get up and move every hour.  Sometimes I get up and take a walk around the building, other times I space out filling up my water bottle with taking rest room breaks.  The company I work for has beautiful grounds, and I try to walk for 20 minutes during my lunch break. Walking not only gives you a break from the screen, but also gives you the physical activity your body needs to stay healthy.

3. Use a health app
I am a big fan of the Health app built into my iPhone because of the built in pedometer.  My phone measures the distance I walk or run each day without any effort on my part.  I frequently check the app to ensure I am walking at least 2 miles a day.

4. Schedule workouts ahead of time
While I am guilty of hitting the snooze button, I try to workout in the morning at least twice a week.  Working out in the morning boosts your metabolism for the rest of the day, and naturally wakes you up from your beauty sleep. If I know I scheduled a workout the next morning, I am more likely to follow through with the work than if I waited until after the evening.  Because everyone works with different schedules, you have to experiment to see which time works best for you.

5. Follow a fun workout program
My morning workouts of choice? Tone It Up! This website is run by two 'Workout Barbies,' as my sister would refer to them, named Karena and Katrina.  K+K offer different workouts for everyday of the week, and have extensive videos for free on their YouTube channel.  I love following their schedules because they offer a new workout everyday.  The workouts are also tailored towards women, focusing on female strength and empowerment. You can follow along with the workouts in the link above, or sign up on the Tone It Up website for daily emails.
